This easy to prepare dessert is fresh and does not require a lot of ingredients. For all of those with a very busy schedule, this is a quick solution to offer a homemade dessert.
INGREDIENTS:
1 package of pie crusts, cut into 2.5 inches diameter circles (about 18 circles)
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
2 lb ripe strawberries
PREPARATION
Place dough circles in a cookie sheet and pierce them with a fork in several places to allow the air to flow through and prevent air bubbles.
Bake in a 350 degrees oven for 10 minutes or until they are done, but before they start getting too brown.
Pour the whipping cream in a medium bowl and place it in another recipient with lots of crashed ice and a little bit of water. Beat the cream with the sugar and the vanilla extract until it thickens and soft peaks form. Keep it in the refrigerator until it is time to use it.
Clean the strawberries and slice them or cut them in half or quarters.
Once the circles are ready, remove them from the oven and let them cool down for a few minutes.
Place one circle on the dessert plate and top it with a generous spoon of whipping cream. Cover the cream with strawberries and top them with another circle. Continue making layers of circles, cream and strawberries. Finish it with a circle.
Using a sifter or a mesh colander, sprinkle some powdered sugar and cocoa powder if desired.
Keep refrigerated until it is time to serve.
